Purposeful Ingredient

LUTEIN
Known as the "Eye Vitamin" with powerful anti-oxidant ! Work together with Zeaxanthin to protect your retina by blocking harmful blue lights. Studies have shown that high intake of Lutein and Zeaxanthin may reduce your risk of eye diseases, such as macular degeneration and cataracts. And it may help to reduce dry eye symptoms too!

ZEAXANTHIN
Similar to Lutein, these two anti-oxidants are highly concentrated in the eyes compared to the rest of the body. Zeaxanthin will makes its way into the centre of the macula, whereas Lutein is dominant in the surrounding retina. Zeaxanthin is a yellow-colored pigment found in the center of the macula that protects the eye cells from the harmful effects of certain light sources, eg. the sun and your digital screens!

VITAMIN C
Apart from it well known immune-boosting properties, Vitamin C is necessary for the production of collagen - a protein that provides structure for the eyes. It is also an anti-oxidant, that fight free radicals damage in the body that can lead to age-related diseases such as cataracts or macular degeneration.

NIACIN
AKA Vitamin B3 - its main function in our body is to help convert food into energy and it can also act as an anti-oxidant. Researchers suggests that Vitamin B3 could play an important role in protecting against glaucoma (is a condition that damages your eye's optic nerve).

VITAMIN E
Vitamin E is a potent anti-oxidant that helps protect your eye cells from free radical damage. It is also known to lower the risk of developing macular degeneration and cataracts, two of the most common age-related conditions affecting our eye health.

BLUEBERRY EXTRACT
Blueberries - often labelled a"superfood" support your eye health through its anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and collagen-stabilizing properties. It contain anthocyanins which are great to fight inflammation and increase blood flow. It also help to prevent blockages in the arteries that feed oxygen to your retina.

AREDS2
The National Eye Institute (NEI) have conducted an AREDS2 studies and recommended the amount of Lutein and Zeaxanthin to slow down Aged-related Macular Degeneration is 10mg and 2mg respectively.
Researchers have shared that It’s possible that blue light exposure from extensive use of digital devices might increase a person’s risk of Macular Degeneration later in life.
However, long-term population studies needs to be done for more concrete conclusion as digital lifestyle have only begin in the last 5 – 10 years . But would it be too late for us… digital apes?
